Women often get to a certain stage in their lives when they honestly believe that their bodies are against them. Throughout their lives, many women are lucky enough not to suffer from period pains but menstrual cramps can be something they start to experience when they reach the menopause. For some it is because they have PCOS or endometriosis that the condition seems to be more severe and painful. Some sail through the day with minor discomfort, while others are doubled over in pain and don’t feel like getting out of bed that morning for anything.

If you suffer as badly as this you need to have a menstrual cramp relief remedy that you can rely on each month. Most women rely on taking a pill during this time which also seems the most obvious answer. Drug manufacturers were quick to formulate a remedy which most people know as Pamprin. Although many women prefer not to take any form of medication, this does you no credit if you cannot do anything for days each month.

A more natural method is to use a heat pad and position it on the tummy or back (it does vary), which can bring some relief. If you have tried pain relief pills and don’t always find they work then it may be worth you trying a heat pad to relieve your discomfort. However, if you endure more painful menstrual cramps you may need to try something stronger. This is especially true if you find that you sometimes have to miss work because they are so bad which doesn’t help your attendance record if it’s a regular occurrence.

This situation really needs to be stopped as soon as possible so an appointment with your doctor to find another form of menstrual cramp relief would be a good idea. A doctor will know of other options available to you including the birth control pill, if you are not already on it, which can help relieve the pains. The discomfort you feel from your cramps might be a long term problem if you have planned to get pregnant but if this isn’t the case then your doctor should be able to advise you if you are in any danger while on the Pill. Don’t give up on your search because a remedy does exist if you are persistent.
