Although not the problem it once was, Cellulites still causes distress to many women who have additional fat in the tissues of their thighs, behind and tummy. Nonetheless, men can suffer with cellulites as well and are often seen as patches lighter then the adjacent skin. When there is fluid in the layers of skin, it becomes a problem because stored fats and other toxins become trapped and do not get washed out unlike a person with good blood circulation who will have smooth skin. The tissues with the stored fats and poisons become hard over time producing the bumpy ‘orange peel’ appearance called cellulites.

Cellulites

The appearance of the cellulites will depend upon each person’s genetics, their lifestyle and the weight of the individual, all of which are factors in cellulite development. Having said that even active women can get cellulite and it can be found even in the muscles of fit individuals, including dancers and athletes because there are different forms of cellulites so being fat is only one reason for having the problem. It’s the hard or solid cellulites that cause trouble and are hard to remove as they are attached directly to the muscles. fizzy cellulites, however, are much more apparent and may even appear to sag from the skin surface and while they come about in larger, muscle regions, they are commonly easily removed.

It is women who suffer the most from cellulite and this can come out anytime after their fourteenth birthday and will usually get worse with age. The birth control pill has been linked with developing cellulites, as has giving birth and suffering from an injury.

Having the correct diet and plenty of physical exercise is still considered to be the best way to control cellulites as exercise will improve the blood circulation which in turn improves the visual aspect of the skin. Although all types physical exercise can help, it is the diet that needs to be more specific: one that is detoxifying and incorporates plenty of fruit and vegetables. Whole grain foods are also hugely recommended but foods that should be avoided include frequent favorites such as coffee and fizzy drinks.

It is thought by some that spicy foods may bestow much in the visual aspect of cellulites but so far this seems to be unfounded and so not proved. The same cannot be said for those other two toxin laden commodities, alcohol and smoking which should be avoided. While a reduced fat diet is always preferably for health, reducing the intake of fatty foods helps reduce the enlargement of the cellulites because fat is tougher to digest and more difficult to remove from your body.

Although they cannot completely get rid of cellulites, cellulite ointments are quite successful in treating and hiding cellulite. By using alpha-hydroxyl acid cream, the cellulites are made to appear as if they have vanished by making the skin more supple whereas all the cream has done is mask the cellulites. Water therapy is also proving to be effective because it seems to make cellulites become less obvious as it withdraws toxins in the body as well as fat and also aids in proper digestion and blood blood circulation.
